XG3025H
Hello, I have an XG3025H and now when I push the forward or reverse peddle it stays down when i take the foot off, almost like the cruise control is partially engaged. If i'm moving forward and want to stop i have to take my foot off the peddle and push the reverse peddle to get it to stop, but if I push too hard i'll start going backwards. To completely stop i typically have to go back and forth between Fwd/Rev till I find the sweet spot of neither being the slightest bit pushed and then it will stop. If either is slightly depressed I can get off the tractor and it will keep rolling (the safety switch in the seat wont get triggered). Anyone have any idea what might be causing this issue??

Check all the linkages underneath, clean all the pivots, and spray with a good silicone lube. Make sure nothing is bent. There should be return springs on the pedals also... make sure they are connected. It sounds like a linkage problem not moving easily.

Agree with this advice......if it wasn’t doing it before and is doing it “now”, odds are it’s a physical obstruction (like a twig from mowing brush) or something loose/bent. Be liberal with wd40......

I have a similar issue on my mt225. First time it happened I had bent the linkage now after 110 hrs i am pretty sure it’s the return springs. Ordered some new ones they appear stretched.

I took a picture of the underside and went to post here but on my phone this site has an ad that shows up at the bottom and doesn't allow me to post a reply. Then I ran over my phone with the tractor so can't post the picture now. There was a spring on the bottom that looked to have the flange it was mounted to bent slightly which cause it to be rubbing on something. I bent it back and it made it a little better. The reverse is worse than forward for some reason, they both seem to still stick, but rev is definitely worse sticks. But when i do want to stop and switch directions it's a little smoother and it will return to zero better so i don't have to keep pushing each peddle till i finally get it to stop moving. When I'm pushing the peddles by hand with the tractor off they seem to return to zero on their own (again forward is better) but driving not so much. There is a bolt on the spring that i adjusted where I could get it to stretch it a little more but the nuts seems stuck in place...not sure if you're supposed to adjust those or not. I'll try to post pictures tomorrow if i can get a new phone.

I did spray everything I could find that moved with fluid film

These are the two pictures I took. The first one shows a piston like thing that is attached to a bolt. Looks like it slipped off a little (gold thing exposed). I tried pushing it back on to that gold ring and it didn't do anything different.

The other photo shows that spring that seemed to help some. Where the blue arrow points, that piece that attaches the spring was bent away from the "frame" where it's attached. The spring attaches to that piece with bolt and a nut on each end of the flat bar. It seems maybe that spring needs to have more tension pulled on it but those nuts don't seem like they're meant to be adjusted.

For those that haven't spent much time under their tractor, the first picture is some type of piston thing that moves when the peddles are pushed. The second photo spring seems to be what pulls them back into place. If i remember correctly

The cylinder is a damper that "slows" the compression and return of the pedals, basically just slowing the movement. It is NOT pressurized like a gas strut. If you remove it, it would not affect the operation. If you did remove it, the pedal would be more sensitive.

On my MT125, there was a service bulletin that replaced that same cylinder, I could not tell the difference between the old one or the new one. The dealer did not know why they were being replaced, he assumed it was a manufacturing defect affecting some of the original ones.

For the bracket that you highlighted with the blue arrow, no there is no adjustment there. The end of the bracket were the spring attaches, may be bent allowing less tension on the spring.... can't tell from the pics

Check your Owner's Manual for a procedure on adjusting the Neutral Stop position (I think that's what it's called, or similar). Might involve loosening or tightening a set screw here or there.

Awesome, thank y'all for the feedback!!

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply adjusting where the arrow was. At the other end where the spring attaches there is a bolt that goes through that bracket and a nut on each side of it. Maybe I need to try harder to adjust the nuts, but they seemed pretty good on there. I'll look up the Neutral Stop and see if that can give me some more insight too. Thanks again!
