My supplier can give quote on the price of diesel in general he says its gunna go up.... thats just how it is. For the dozens of farmers around here, they cannot just raise the price of wheat, garbanzo beans or peas they grow to off-set fuel prices. Subsidies is the govnmt's answer to that.... just throw money at it.
Same with timber companies. With the lumber market in the tank, contracts half to be met for suppling harvested timber to the mills via, logging companies, then lumber to stores such as home depot or lowes when they need it at lower economy prices plus every aspect of the proses dealing with and paying the high off road fuel prices..... Minus the govnmt's subsidies crutch
Three years ago off-road diesel hit $3.50 a gallon... Any one remember that??
Im still at a loss as to why we need to be so dependent on off-shore petro when we have better drilling, refining and bio-fuel potential right here... and DIRELY need the jobs and petro to boot....
I blame the EPA and its supporters mostly....'government' The laws and limitations are darn near such that we cannot do nothing that might make dust or create muddy water, create a hole, smash a blade of grass or harvest the 98% dead stands of timber on federal ground anymore.
