I thought it would be fun to start a thread where we can share interesting photos we’ve taken on the farm, property, or anywhere else.

The other night, my wife and I were out on our SxS, and I snapped this photo.

I didn't take this...It's my dad and his Star automobile, taken about 1930 on the farm in Major County, OK.

Cat waiting patiently for fresh milk, fresh from the source. Cow didn't mind at all. On my parent's dairy farm in Pennsylvania, 50+ years ago...

This reminds me I need to get around to scanning photos, I have dozens of albums filled with family photos from the 1860's onward, and only a handful of them ever digitized.

But speaking of farms, here's one from my great-grandparents, which you have probably all seen more than you realize. These photos were taken in 1938, when great grandma was selling the farm, between Pineville and New Hope, PA.



It's now called Headquarters Farm, because Washington set up his headquarters there for the ten days leading up to that famous Christmas night crossing of the Delaware into Trenton. The dining room was apparently his office, and debate continues over whether the spring house or some other now-gone structure served as the jailhouse for John Honeyman. Trump made it one of his campaign stops in 2016.

I was on a kick taking barn pictures a couple of years ago, abandoned ones are my favorite.

Not exactly a farm photo, but my first tractor, nonetheless. Me at the wheel, my younger brother in the wagon. Photo from July 1977, likely taken somewhere along Lurgan Rd. New Hope, maybe at the old one-room schoolhouse we used to own down there. I'm having trouble remembering the barn or house in the background, but it may have been replaced by a McMansion, by now.
