whenever I had my 550 gallon heating oil filled, I always had the driver to put in a couple of quarts of diesel conditioner...to keepthe fuel from freezing......
I have put in a percentage of kerosene also to keep fuel from gelling....wasn't using in a tractor then......Mike

BTW, using a high sulpher kerosene or any other additive that increases the sulphur content in on-road diesel fuel will be illegal under the new EPA regs. This applies to distributors, retailers and users. How they plan on enforcing this is an entirely different issue. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I normally get the off road-high sulfur diesel from my dealer - the bigger nozzle still fits my 5 gallon containers. Someday, I hope to upgrade to a barrel and pump.

When discussing fuel/lubes with a friend a few weeks back, I asked how he disposed of his oils/hydro fluids. He informed me that he didn't, he simply strained them and then would mix them with his diesel (1:10 ratio) and just run it thru his (non Kioti) tractor. Part of his rationale, was that these oils were just too expensive to simply discard with so little use. When questioned, he stated he has never had a problem.

Anyone care to comment on this practice?

This has been discussed before (in the Oils Forum) and it's generally considered a bad idea. Why dump used, dirty oils into an expensive tractor?
