Fuel Usage

My Toolcat is thirsty for fuel ALL THE TIME.

I seem to go thru at least a gallon per hour even while taking it very easy. The fuel tank is not too big so I am refueling quite often.

Are others experiencing something similar?

That sounds pretty good to me. My tractor uses 3 gallons/hour and I think my 873 SSL probably uses close to the same.

I use just a bit over a gallon per hour, but don't notice as much since my Toolcat 5600 Turbo has a larger fuel tank capacity than your non-turbo Toolcat (16 gals vs. about 10 gals) /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. Also, perhaps turbocharger system on my 56-hp Toolcat helps keep thirst at bay no matter how heavy or light you run throttle or work the machine.

Are you moving a lot of snow with your Toolcat? What attachments have you gotten so far?

Hi Brian,

I moved quite a bit of very heavy snow earlier with the 7.5' BOSS snow blade. It has warmed up quite a bit, so I have been loading manure with the material bucket.

I just bought a 66" brush grapple bucket which I still need to put the flat faced hydraulic connectors on in the spring.

Our Tolcats burn approx. 1 gallon an hour. During snow removal operations we are operating at full throttle and traverse over 185 miles of residential streets doing contracts and "one shots". Full throttle and 2nd speed saves quite a bit of time.
