Fuel stabilizer?

Does most fuel stabilizers work with gas and diesel engines. The stuff I brought doesn't specify if it's specific for gas or diesel.

What did you get? I would DEFINITELY make sure whatever you use is designed for diesel. I personally use Powerservice in my fuel to get rid of water and prevent jelling.

I don't know what you bought and don't know whether some of the stabilizers are made for both or not. I just use Power Service in diesel and Stabil in gasoline.

Keith, my neighbors and I used only Power Service year round, but remember I live far enough south that we don't have much freezing weather. And I have no technical knowledge at all, so maybe someone else can answer this.

Any product that indicates it prevents gelling. The PowerService web site indicates it does this to -40F

This company makes two formulations. It's not widely available. Most of the stuff is sold in 55 gal barrels to commercial users. The gasoline stabilizer is good for two years.

I use Stabil to winter over the summer toys, it's made for gas and diesel. I also condition every bit of diesel I use, year round with PowerServe.

Wow. Be careful as I was in Wally world yesterday checking into stabilizers for fuel. Some ARE NOT made for diesel. I'd make darn sure you know first.

Yes, read the label. The Stabil I use is just for gas.
