Fuel seeping from fuel shot off valve - 5065e

I have a very small seepage leak coming from underneath the red (90 degree turn) fuel shut off valve on the left side of the fuel filter assembly. looks to me like to replace the valve you also need to remove the hex shaped adapter. the red shot off valve has a rubber hose and small hose clamp ont he bottom of it. The valve assemble is a 90 degree asssembly which must be vertically oriented after you thread it into the hex shaped adapter. I imagine the hex shaped adapter (approx 1 inch long) has an o-ring gasket that seals it againt the filter housing. My tractor is under warranty and the dealer said they will replace it. I was just wondering if anyone knows what froms the seal betweent he valve body which threads into the adapter and how is it you can rotate it exactly 90 degrees and get it to seal ? Dealer sent a mechanic out and replaced fuel shutoff valve and the adjacent hex adapter , both with new o-rings. No more seepage. Pretty responsive considering the dealer is about 45 miles from my farm , one way.
