Heard on the radio today fuel prices set to rise to £1 a litre
I make that approx. $10 a gallon. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
An incredible percentage of that is tax. Think agricultural diesel is about 20p a litre (Densleigh, MetalChicken, you know?)
Thats just nuts kinda prices, it now costs me probably 5p more each time to mow my lawn than it did 3 years ago!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Mith, out here in California we probably have just about the highest fuel prices of anywhere in the US. Regular is about $2.49/gal, premium is about $2.79/gal, diesel is about $2.79/gal as well. I think of that as high but must admit it seems to pale in comparison to most of the world. Obviously, the tax on our finished product is considerably less. I think diesel is about 44 cents per gallon tax. Gas is about 35 cents. Any idea what France and Germany are paying for fuel?

One consolation is that in the UK distance of travel is limited compared to the US and OZ

Im from Minnesota but payed in wisconsin the other day at 2.38 a gallon for regular. Wisconsin has a high gas tax so I only put in 30.00 dollars worth just to get back over the boarder where I only paid 2.19.

I heard that France is approaching $6.00 a gallon. I don't know about Germany.

Sorry to say this, but gas prices will do nothing but go up over the long haul due mostly to demand from US, China and India. I expect at least $5.00 gas within 3 years.

Norway: 1 gallon = very near $7 and still rising. And we pump this stuff up... I guess prices will be much the same in Germany.

I had a client in my office the other day and he was telling me about a friend of his that I think lives in W VA. none the less, seems the guy has had some successful wells drilled but he capped them.

He's sitting on them "so that when prices go up /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif, he can sell at a higher price"

True? I don't really know though I don't have any reason to doubt him.

Anders, are you in Norway? Update your profile if you wish, interesting to add to our global community.

A guy was laughing at my newest lawn tractor (yesterday) saying that if i brimmed the tank it would double its value. Sadly, its near the truth. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I do find it slightly funny that you Americains worry about fuel rising to $3 a gallon

I don't think it is rediculous it is just the price of a commodity that is getting increasingly scarce. More world demand for a finite resource.

In Canada at C$ 00.95 per litre.......that equates to US$ 3.11 per US gallon. And going up. Better get used to it.
