Has anyone found a NAPA or after market cross reference number for the fuel pre-filter? I don't think I saw one listed in the filter thread. Thanks.

I haven't seen a cross for the fuel filters yet. I keep looking occasionally but none of the filter sites show updates yet. I bought OEM filters for my 50 hour service. So far I've only changed the oil, hyd, and HST filters. The rest are on the shelf for when I need them. I figure it will take a couple years for the filter companies to catch up with the newer XR series.

Thanks George. I may have to go to the dealer if I can't come up with one. I may try searching a little more.

I went to a local dealer for the fuel pre-filter. Their hours were 7-4 Today (Sat). I got there at 2:30 and no one was home, go figure. Not the first time I have witnessed this happening at a couple of their locations. This is just another reason I didn't buy from these people. I ended up using a Fram G3. 3/8" hose barbs. The only difference is the inlet is out the bottom and outlet out the top, not on the sides like the original. Plenty of hose to hook up and fits in the bracket nicely. So if you want to replace that filter without using a dealer filter the Fram G3 or equivalent works great.

Isn't the G3 for gasoline?

The counter guy said it was good for either. And as George stated it listed diesels. The factory filter did not have any numbers on it. Only wording was made in Japan. I don't think it is anything special by any stretch. Just remember which ever after market filter you use it has the 3/8" hose barbs. Many are 5/16" which are a little too small for the 3/8" fuel hose.
