I was just reading in one of the forums that home fuel heating oil could be used in a diesel engine. Aside from the tax issue I always thought the there was a problem with lubrication. I have a 2006 CK30 bought new, that has been one heck of a tractor and I really do not want to mess up something. I use off road fuel with opti lube and never had a problem starting, or engine preformance. Just wondering.

Close, but not exactly.

I believe diesel fuel has additives that HHO or kerosene does not. The additives are in diesel fuel for the benefit of engines. (lubricity, anti-foam agents, etc)

You can run HHO or K-1 in a diesel engine, but a steady diet of it would not be good idea. (some engine manufacturers may consider your warranty void if you do)

As far as the tax issue goes, can use "off-road" diesel fuel in your tractor. Here in La, off-road is ~$.35 per gallon cheaper than road fuel.

Home heating oil and diesel are one and the same up here in Northern Ontario. My supplier just puts the red dye into the HHO to show that it is 'tax free'.

Our store sells it as Furnace oil/off road diesel. It is ussually 4cents cheaper a litre than on road stuff.
