I致e got a Craftsman lawn tractor with a Kohler pro 20 V Twin. 50 cut. It says model 917.273061. It started to develop Fuel leak a couple of years ago, but it was only when I had the tank almost full. In the last month it seems to drip pretty steadily with any more than 1/4 tank. I took a pic I値l try to post, but I can稚 tell where the gas is coming from. It痴 a pretty steady drip drip drip.
I知 just wondering if it痴 a common problem with these, and there might be an easy fix. Ha! That痴 never the case.
I haven稚 spent much time looking at it to see how I might be able to even get at it.
Anyone have any experience with these? It been a great mower, and works hard. I知 concerned if I hit a rock at the wrong time, I could end up in a ball of flames..

Any help would sure be appreciated!
Thanks
Jeff

More commonly it is the fuel tank itself. They leak at the seam and tend to leak over a half a tank, though I would suppose that after jostling around it could leak at a quarter. Best to replace the grommet as well. Craftsman model 91727361 lawn, tractor genuine parts The rear body unbolts from behind the foot pads and up above under the seat.

Tank is $50. Not bad. Is this the grommet you are talking about?

Where does it even go? Sorry, I’m obviously not a mechanic..

By the way,, Thank you very much for the reply. I am ordering the fuel tank and grommet. $65 is a lot cheaper than buying a new tractor. Hopefully I can handle the installation. I’m ok at taking things apart, it’s the getting it back together again part that I struggle with.

The tank grommet is 532003645. The tank 532151346. The grommet you have listed is the PCV canister grommet on the engine I believe. This one goes below the tank around the fuel line fitting. Installation is pretty straight forward. Some have a "u" shaped bracket over the tank that can be mounted either way, but only one way works. I mark them as it comes off to prevent that o/s moment. Other than that it is being careful with routing of the seat switch harness. If you were ever thinking of replacing the fuel lines, now is the time!

Thanks guys. Looks like I ordered the wrong grommet. Crap.. Oh well, I’ll get the right one ordered and look at items 26 & 27 also. Looking at some YouTube video, and comments, I’ve read where there are pads? I’m re must be something that cushions the gas tank when sitting in place. Anyone know what I’m talking about here? (I obviously haven’t torn into it yet). Do I need to get some kind of pads or something? Just would like to start and complete it in the same day, plus it’s a long trip to any decent hardware store.
Thanks

Where are you seeing items #26 and #27? I keep going back and forth with the website, and cannot find those items listed. Geese, my computer skills match my mechanical skills.
Thx

Edit, it looks like the correct grommet is included with the new tank. Hopefully that痴 still the case.

There’s probably some rubber washers where it bolts up. I’d reuse the same ones. I’d guess the tank isn’t at fault unless it’s deformed.
