Trying to clarify. Your fuel gauge reads full after 5 or more hours of use, and you're concerned about the gauge not working property?

Try sticking the tank. Take a clean(ish) stick, and dip it into the tank. Compare the level with the side of the tank. If its full, or close to full, then your gauge is probably correct, and you're getting good fuel economy.

If the level is half or lower, then there are other issues at play.

Like a car, mine shows full until the fuel
level hits a certain point, then you will see it drop off much faster. Must be well above the sensor/float.

On my McCormick ct41, a rebadged LS, the top of the tank is where all the capacity is, will read full until you get to about 1/2 gone, than the Guage falls fast. I thought I had a bad sending unit until I actually looked at the shape of the tank.

Yep, my XG3025 (225E) runs for hours before the gauge moves. Then moves quickly from just less than 3/4 to 1/4 tank..... Then it only takes about a half hour to go from 1/4 to "E" red mark.

When I let it get all the way to E, it takes right at 5.2 gallons to fill it back up. Considering the specs say it is a 6.7 gal tank, I still have 1.5 gals remaining at the E mark.

I kinda like that it shows E, but has a 'reserve' remaining. I don't look at the fuel gauge too often, so that gives me some protection from running it dry.... not saying that couldn't happen one day.....😲😲
