Tractor
Mahindra 4035
I want to change the fuel filter on my 4035. Since I purchased it used I have no idea when it was last changed. I was able to download the manual for the tractor and found the instructions for doing it. HOWEVER- the manual talks about the filter and the screw/plug at the bottom of the filter for draining water if necessary. I looked at the filter on my tractor and it has no such plug on the bottom. So it's obviously been changed. I googled the part number of the filter that's currently on there and it's a $9 WIX fuel filter. (Part 33195). When I was at the Mahindra dealer a couple weeks ago I bought the Mahindra fuel filter. Today I opened the Mahindra filter and it has the hole in the bottom for draining water but there was no plug/screw for it. And I obvuously don't have one on the tractor as the current filter has no drain at the bottom.
So, can I just get a new $9 wix filter with no drain and be good. Or should I use the $50 Mahindra filter with the drain- and if so should the plug have come with the filter? Thanks in advance.

Look a round the filter area as the drain has a sending unit for water detection. Maybe it is still attached to the wiring harness.
