Oil & Fuel fuel cap vent

I just purchased a rather inexpensive fuel tank cap from Hoye Tractor for my YM2500. Just plain jane cap, no gauge type. Is this cap supposed to be vented? I can't see any vent hole in it. anyone else have one of these caps? It was around 6.00, I think. thanks.

It should be printed on the packaging if it is vented or not

The Yanmar tractors that did not have gauge had a screen that fit into the top of the tank between the cap & tank. The screen has a port in the side of the lip and is where the tank vents. You are correct that you do need a vent though. If you do not have the screen you will need to buy one or keep your cap slightly loose (messy).

Yes, we had a bunch of those on order for several months & I was told some of them were finally shipping last week. We should have 50 or so of them in about a week.
