Fuel Barrel question

I have posted earlier that I am going to get an old fuel barrel filled again after not using it for several years. I have cleaned it out, new filter and checked for leaks. I now have about 5 gallons of gas in there and delivery truck will not be here until sometime next week. I bought a large jug of StaBil Marine stabilizer to keep fuel fresh. Is there any problem in adding the entire jug of StaBil to the 5 gallons in the tank so when truck gets here it will all mix up? I will not be using anything out of the barrel until well after it is filled up, but don't know if adding it early will decrease the potency so it will not work as well. Gas barrel is on an overhead stand so adding later and mixing is not as easy as with a 55 gallon drum. Any advice is appreciated.

No problem at all. The boats I maintain hold anywhere from 85 gallons to 300. When we store them for the winter we do just what you are doing, add the stabilizer then top off.
