Frt drive shaft seal replacement for JD2210

I've got a leaking seal on the front axle driveshaft input seal.

I got the part on order so I have not seen the part and I have the drive shaft removed so I can see the seal but it's not clear how the seal comes out.

Per the manual the instructios are not clear if the seal can be replaced itself or if I have to remove the input shaft from the axle housing and then replace.

Any thoughts?

The seal will be a press fit into the case. Is the sealing surface on the drive shaft or pinion shaft? If the drive shaft you should be able to hook it from behind and pry it out.
