I've never seen a product that worked with near 100% effectiveness and then 6 months later have ZERO effectiveness.

Exactly! As I said, this wasn't a slight change in effectivenss. It went from perfect to useless in a two month period. Heck, it seemed like it was making the dog more attractive to the fleas!

In any case, I think there is more to this than meets the eye. And if there isn't, the company should have a good explanation for that sort of variation. They should be able to give a reasonable explanation as to why the product could fail so completely in such a short period. And if they said, oops, we made a bad batch but everything is okay now, I'd respect that and stick with them because up until now, for seven blissful flea free years it has been a superb, amazing product.

I wonder what would happen if this drug were a heart medicine for humans...

We've got left over vials but I'm not even sure who to send it to or how much such a service would cost.

The other thing is that apparently what we're using now is working. Dog isn't scratching at all. So I've kind of lost interest in the 'why' aspect of the Frontline failure since it looks like I've found a solution.

Of course between the pills, bug bombs, flea spray and Advantix I'm surprised the dog is still around. We figured either the fleas or the dog were going to die.....either way, problem solved.;)

Put frontline on dog a week before vet appointment. Vet was picking ticks of dog just a complaining. Said they have had several bad batchs this year. I told him you should have seen the dog before i put the so-called bad batch on. Retreated and the dog is tick free. He was goign to talk with the frontline folks again ahve not heard back.

Here is a miracle drug you can use, we use it on our 5 in house dogs and it is truly fantastic:

That's what the vet gave us to use along with the Advantix and things seem to be good now.

You can also take the die/pigment and toss it on the wet concrete and smooth it into the top layer. This is cheaper but if the concrete gets chipped you will see the underlying color. So we just colored the whole mass.

Later,
Dan

Good Afternoon Dan,
Very good point ! Also the the die/pigment will fade easier in an outdoor enviroment from the sun ! Although this wouldnt be an issue for George using it indoors.

We had about 600 sq ft of reinforced pressed concrete installed around the perimeter of our inground pool about 15 years ago and I have noticed some fading over the last few years ! I try to put a good grade concrete sealer on it every couple of years to negate the effects of the sun ! If I had to do it again, I would do as Dan suggests and die/pigment the whole batch ! :)
