I can buy the Frontier 2060 with chains for $1600 plus tax or the Woods BB60 without chains for $1600 plus tax. Which is the better rotary cutter??? HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
I'm using a 2010 JD 3320 to pull with.

I had a woods Brush bull cutter. It was absolutely explosion proof. It was a very smooth, quiet cutter. It would whack down small saplings like hot butter. Sorry I sold it now..... Heck, it even worked with my quick hitch. Why did I sell it???

It really depends on what you're cutting. If mostly grasses and the occasional small (1"-1.5" inch trunk), I would go with the Frontier.
I don't know what it would cost to add chains to the Woods, but figure $300 or more.

I would go with the frontier, I had the rc1060 with chains, fantastic cutter.
I just hope that the new modern ag, does just as good as the rc1060 did, I'll be happy. I traiden it in with the smaller tractor I had. Now 60" cutter is too small for me.

Is the woods a better rotary cutter (tougher)?

first off, TAX??? what state are you in? a mower should be farm use and non taxable. I would go with the Frontier, Woods jsut doesnt seem to be what it use to be. And as far as the toughest shredder out there. Get a galvanized Modern Ag. 10 year rust warranty and 5 year gearbox. made of 7 gauge steel and it is hot dipped galvanized

No experience with the Woods, but I ran a Frontier RC2060 some this autumn on some pretty overgrown areas.

No problem with cutting, I know I was hitting some 2" saplings without issue (I was moving very slow). The deck is still completely unblemished. The only sheet metal damage was some bending on the skirt edge & the chain support area from backing into really overgrown areas that occasionally held a hidden log or stump. Not enough to affect operation, but detectable if you look closely. The slip clutch worked well. I had put reference marks on the edge so I know it must have occasionally slipped, but I never got in a situation where it just slipped continuously.
