I have the PM1001 middle buster. The mould board has 3 bolt hole to attach to plowstock. The center one is not used. The top and bottom holes are 7/16" carriage bolt square holes , 2 1/4" ctr spacing. The two holes in plowstock foot are 1/2" diameter at 2" ctr spacing. The bolts are common grade so they would break before damaging plow if you snagged something hard. I tried putting in 7/16" bolts so they would not break easily in hard ground. Since the spacing on mould board is 2 1/4" vs the 2" spacing on plowstock foot, the bolts are not parallel. You can only hit both front and back holes with the skinnier 3/8" bolts. I have asked dealer about spacing discrepancy and they can't produce a drawing showing intended spacing. They ordered a new one to measure and compare to mine, assuming new one is made correctly. The original bolts were 3/8" low grade carriage bolts which will fit through both holes even though not parallel. I am currently using a Gr 5 stronger hex bolt with washer on front side (leading face) but it is not a carriage bolt. It is holding up fine in the stiffer soil I am using it in. I was using the buster to break up some ground before discing since I don't have a 1 or 2 bottom plow yet. Probably misusing it but I have it and was using it to lay out some rows for corn after breaking up ground. Has anyone noticed this bolt spacing discrepancy? I can't imagine it is intentional to have non-parallel bolts. I got the middle buster as a 2nd inexpensive implement to get 1500 rebate. Kinda neat and versatile implement. I am looking for 2 bottom plow for breaking up ground. Thanks for any help with this curiosity.
