I am considering getting a Frontier Food Plot Seeder - FP1206. I like the idea of one implement to do it. Less time and easier to haul I would be using it out at my hunting place. It would not get used that much, but sure seems slick.

I priced a FP1206 - list is $6100 and my price is around $5500.

Anybody have one?

Alternatives?

Thanks,
D.

I've heard that the ones you trail behind a atv/utv aren't too hot, But John Deere is advertising the one below built by fronteer and they seem like a do it all for food plots. Given both John deere and fronteer but their names behind it I am thinking it has to be of a mimnumum quality but can't seem to find anyone who has actually used one. They are pretty expensive to buy without a review....

I have a Frontier disc harrow and I'm pretty sure it's made by Tufline, but can't swear to it. I know the disc's have Tufline stamped into them. I was told by a JD dealer that the Frontier line has been made by several different implement manufacturers over the years. Can anyone confirm or deny who makes the Frontier lineup now??

That's a NICE looking piece of equipment though! I want one, but not for the price tag! Too big for my tractor anyways..... :(

I've looked at these, too, but I just don't think it will work that great as a one pass system in the heavy loam I have on my place. You could buy one heck of a 3 point tiller, and pick up a rebuilt 2 or 3 row JD 71 or 7000 planter on eBay, and still have a couple of grand left over to buy lime, fertilizer and seed!
