Frontier BB2048L work on 2320?

Found a good deal on a used Frontier BB2048L box blade for my yet to be delivered JD 2320. Found a website with specs and it says Cat 0 or limited Cat 1 compatible for hitch. The 2320 is full Cat 1.

Will the BB2048L hook up to the 2320 as is or will changes need to be made?

It may fit. Depends on the lift pin size as this unit is available with Cat 0 or 1 pin options. However it is a lightweight unit at only 275 lbs. I suggest you keep shopping for a BB2048 (not L) which is cat 1, heavier at 385 lbs and overall better suited for a 2320.

Weight is a plus for box blades, plus this unit has only 3 scarifiers versus 4 for most 4 ft box blades. But I do see the United 448HD on Everything Attachments weighs only 318 lbs while the BB2048L is 275 lbs. The United unit looks real nice.

For the price I can get for this unit, may be too hard to pass up.

I ordered a BB2048, and my dealer accidently got the 2048L. I tried it out, but thought it was pretty light-weight on my 2320. When I finally recieved the non 'L' version I couldn't believe how much heavier built it was, worked a lot better -- especially with the 4 shanks. The 2048L will get the job done, but the BB2048 is quite a bit heavier, taller and better built.

I opted for the BB2048 for my smaller JD2305 to do double duty as a counter weight to the FEL. I liked the additional weight as mentioned by other posters.

I looked at the 2048L and a Cammond 48" boxblade which the dealer sells. Went with the heavier Cammond as the dealer didn't have a regular 2048 and this was for my lawnmower. Works OK have only used it for a few hours so far without problems.

For your 2320 and up I recommend getting the heavier boxblade for sure.
