Frontier AV20 Root Grapple-Need info

I am purchasing a new JD 6115 tractor to be used primarily for tractor logging in the winter and am trying to decide on a root grapple. Ideally, I want to stick with the Frontier AV20 grapple because I can finance it at the same time I do the tractor at a good rate. My questions are, does anyone have this rake now and do you think it is rugged enough to use for moving logs and brush on a regular basis? The price ($4,600.00) is not really an issue because it is within dollars of a custom built Addington rake I was considering. Thanks for any help. Bliz

I wasn't going to say anything 'cause my suggestion wasn't in line with your question. I see no one has helped you out yet, so here's my two cents. Look into Markham. There service is great, and I hear the product is great too. It'll be a lot cheaper too.

Two Bit, Markham has had a lot of press here on the board. You can do a search and find a bunch. I have a Markham light duty grapple that is 60" wide and single 30" top tine with 4.5" spacing in the bottom teeth. It is probably somewhere between 450 to 500lbs. It is a great fit for my L4240 Kubota (42hp).
Markham is a small operation but great to work with. They make heavier grapples for Skid Steer equipment and larger horsepower tractors. They will work with you on what you would like. Their prices are going to be very hard to beat. I'd suggest giving them a call and chatting. You can search for Markham Welding and find their web site. They are located in Denton NC.
