Front wheel offfset which rim to use

I have new multi trac tires for my JD 855 with FEL. I have two sets of rims. Rims on tractor now have deep dish with narrow inside width 28" per owners manual. The extra set of rims in my opinon will alter the distance position.
However looking at dozens of 855 photo's with or without loader they all have differances in front rim
It would be easier for me to use wheel on the left as they are just the rim and I can save the other for spares

Opinions on this will be helpful

You have to be careful with rim offset. If wheels are set too wide the can sometimes interfere with the loader mounts. Not sure about your JD but know it is the case with other makes. Keep in mind that the wider the offset places more strain on steering components especially with a loader.

I decided to and make a day of it and dismount /remount and use the rims on the tractor using width position per manual. I'm off to the shop.

You made the correct choice. I had a set of wheels probably identical to the ones you decided not to use. If you mount them stems out, they rub on your ball joints if you have any tire deflection. You can turn them around. However your tires will now rub on your mower deck if you use one. Since my rear turfs are pretty worn and one leaks and I haven't decided to spend the $$ to buy new in that size, I've just kept my R4's on all the time and so moved the front tires to the wheels I had my turfs on which are the factory wheel.

I've been on the lookout for another pair of wheels but it seems the majority are for older JD lawn tractors which have the wrong offset. I may eventually spend the $95/wheel from the dealer unless he has a set of take off wheels floating around to sell cheap.
