The plate that holds the wheel broke off the shaft. I'm thinking that it is not a good idea to weld the plate on the shaft? i know that there are seals an bearings less then 1/2" away. So if you have some help, I CAN USE. :) I ALSO NEED A O RING FOR THe FUEL GLASS BOWL .......RICHARD AKA PINGDADDY37

Yeah Richard,

I don't think you should weld it back together. Even when welded properly it would be a monster for maintenance and repairs down the road. Bearings, seals and washers are designed to slide over the shaft and unless the shaft is re-machined, at best, the repair would be temporary.

The best and safest bet would be a complete or partial knuckle assembly for your tractor. I'd check with the dealers who post here on TBN. Make a few phone calls and see what your best path would be.

Good luck.

this plate looks like it was welded on,and the weld broke. I'm thinking maybe I'll have to disassemble the gearbox at the wheel.the seals an bearings must go on from the inside of the gearbox, if the plate was welded on in the first place.....richard

Weld the darn thing back on and put it to work. Pull the fragile seals as necessary. Reweld the other side as long as you are at it. A grinding wheel is all you need to true it up. Just what have you got to loose? If you don't have a welder, now's the time. If necessary, get a welding repair shop to do it for you.

If you were all alone on this planet without a new parts depot nearby, just what would you be doing instead of tractoring?

As I recall this tractor was a bait and switch to start with, and you had some problems to start with....if it appears that that part was previously welded I would have to have a serious chat with the seller...even at this point. There are some things you just don't do and then foist off on a customer, and I'm thinking that is one of them.

I'd be driving a new tractor off of someone's showroom floor :)

If you can't locate 1 . Take yours to a machine shop & have them weld it & turn it down if the bearing / seal goes in that area. If nothing else they can turn it so everything will run true

The kunckle seal on the red YM1500D is 140M OD.
The kunckle seal on the green YM1500D is 135M OD.
