Kubota L4330 with LA853 Loader, Yanmar YM276D with YFL1000 Loader, Yanmar YM276D, Yanmar YM147D, Case 1845C
Can any of you indicate what type of weights you use for your Yanmar tractor? What size of "suitcase weight" should one find for the front of a YM276D or YM147D tractor? Does one simply use the John Deere weights? Thanks.

Deere or Yanmar weights will be the most precise fit but they are going to be expensive.

This isn't rocket surgery. Any weights with the notch to fit over the bumper will work fine if you add shims to make a snug fit. I got four 60 lb weights (of unknown origin) from a dealer at a good price. It took a chunk of 4x6 with a metal plate laminated to it, to get a tight fit. I later added a chunk of railroad rail, my shop anvil, when I wanted even more weight.

If you can't find proper weights then people bolt on a box filled with a concrete etc for similar effect. Weight far forward is more effective than close to the bumper. And don't add something so wide that it will bump something in a tight turn.

I have a solid metal bar and a 3" diameter pipe filled with lead to make a double bar bumper. it's in the 150 to 175# range.

it's wider than I like as California says. it's not wider than the wheels but in a tight turn the tractor clears but the bumper can clip a tree if your not paying attention and concise of its width. I did oNE time and now I pay attention to it in a tight turn.

I have posted many pics of it and when I get to work tomorrow on a real computer I will repost it. it's just hard to do from the phone.

Top blue pipe is 3" ID and filled with lead, bottom bar is 3" diameter solid steel round stock.

The lead in metal pipes works really well. A collection of lost anchors from local Lakes packed this one. ;) It's been a while but I believe in came in around 80lbs. Plus it added a bigger and better bumper. Everything is set back out of the way which I have to be really close to hit something with it. I only needed the weight for when I lifted the FM. of 600lbs. It was really light on the front traveling.

I'm surprised that you found enough anchors to fill it!!

I think my blue pipe filled was about 100 and that steel pipe was 80ish. I could be a little high though on mine, which is why I gave the initial estimate of 150 to 175.

:D Collected a few over the yrs. but what's not funny is where my 2000 was sitting was were my Ranger use to sit. Had to sell it since there was no way I could use it much if @ all anymore. Had it for yrs.. Over 10 so I accumulated a few and found a good use for them. And when I tagged it which confirmed what was told to me or actually my wife who bought it for me. Was that it came from Augusta. Ga.. W. Payne owner...Yup!! it was BA. esp. after It took care of some things......
But my bumper packed solid and wasn't sure if it was enough weight or not. Which it did help a lot and added the bumper. If I recall I set it on the wife's scale just to get a good idea of the weight. Which came up about right It was actually 4 anchors I cut up and packed in.

I am selling one of my boats now. ITs my little center console. I will miss that boat, but we bought a pontoon so it needs to go, not really a family boat as its small and tight, its good for 2 people. Just a plain jane fishing boat.

Do you folks melt down the lead when you put it inside your "bumpers?"

Mine looks real good but no. I used a buddy's Hyd. parts press. That just used a Manuel Hyd. Jack and got it hot then put a few welds to square of steel for a cap. You can probably use a sledge hammer worst case.
