Have a new to me tractor, its a Kubota M9540HDC24.
Been going thru what it needs and have not used it much. Has electric PTO and 4x4 engagement. When the break pedal is depressed (stopped and in neutral) the 4X4 symbol on the dash lights up, don't know if that means anything

The right front tire has some bad wear on the outside tread. Used a level against both front tires and both seem to have about the same pitch. It could be this tire was taken off another trackor before I bought it, but guess it could be something else.

I've looked several times - back/forth. To me it appears both front tires have just about the same amount of wear. So do the rear tires. Check your owners manual regarding that 4X4 symbol or call the local Kubota dealer.

I do understand that its hard to see 3D with a 2D pic. As the tread wears away it gets wider. Note that the tread on the outside is wider then the inside, and its only the right front tire. In the other pics, my finger is not quite the tread that remains on the outside, yet the inside is much higher

Took your advice and called the dealer, its not in the manual that I downloaded. Says the electronic 4x4 does do that when applying the break to make sure all 4 wheels are breaking.
Also the tire wear is part of it if its run on the road, but could also be that the toe in may be a bit to much

Yes, from the wear you are showing on that front tire tread, something is definitely out of spec. on that side. If it were only from running on hard pavement, both front tires would have the same wear pattern.

Recon I'll break out the measuring tape

How about air pressure in both tires and could there be an issue with the right front tire not turning freely?

It may have come off another tractor before you got it, I think I may swap the tires from left to right and see if you notice wear happening on the right again. I don't know if it is possible that the right wheel is locked in 4x4 and the left not. ..

Road use, even in 2wd will cause the right front to wear more than the left.

Will check pressure but every time pressure is low on other equipment I see wear on outside edges

Swapping would be worth a shot

Even a 2wd, ?
Have looked at several 9540's over the last month and some had tires worn out on the front and they were pretty even wear. All of these where not electric 4wd

My backhoe has always wore the right tire more that the other from running on the hwy in 2wd my tractor that seldom ever sees hard surface wears evenly.

Drive slip ratio may be off. Fronts are skidding because of rolling radius mis-match. Easy to check.

I can take a little bit of extra wear, but this is a lot to me. I have a CAT 416 4x4 backhoe and the tires are 60 percent worn, but show nothing like this. I'm really starting to think that the tire came off another tractor.

Tried measuring the toe in and think its close to what it should be. To get a better reading I plan to hang a 2x4 across the middle of the wheels, and then measure from them. Currently doing some other repairs/checks

You've had 2 members and your dealer tell you it's from running on the road and normal from their own experience. Seems like that's the answer.

Even the dealer said it would do it to both tires (just more on the right), so I'm not convenience yet. If this was the case then to me a real bad design. The tire is about worn out when it gets to about 50 % on one side. So at 50% wear you have to buy 2 tires because one is worn out and the other has half its life left.

Left one might have been replaced due to damage so it is newer and in better shape. More severe road wear is usually from a 'loose' front end. That wobble really gets going at road speed. If its bothering you, why not swap sides of the 2 front tires?

It's also quite possible that the previous owner ran it for a extended period of time with it improperly inflated.

I'll do more research and may swap tires. Also going to mark the tires (front and rear) then drive it in a straight line to see if there is a rotation issue as zz mentioned. Have a bunch of other things to do getting the tractor ready for working. I don't really see how a tire only wears the complete tread off one side and doesn't even get much if any of the other side. The treads over lap in the middle, yet the inside tread looks fine

The tractor has been turning to the left a lot more then to the right on a hard surface with a load in the bucket and/or at high speed.

Definitely an odd tread wear pattern. And could be something very different causing such wear than what has been suggested thus far.
