I rec'd some (wise) advice to look into the LS Tractors so I've been looking at the J2023. Looking at the Mahindra and the Kubota, I see that they both have a front snow blade available but I don't see one mentioned anywhere for LS on their site and nothing came up on Google. If I went with LS and wanted a front snow blade, am I out of luck?

No you are not out of luck, you can use any blade with a quick attach. (Sized for your tractor of course!)

Something like this: HLA Snow

Something like that mounts up to the FEL, correct? The others I saw from Mahindra, Kubota, Deere, etc. all seemed to mount below the machine without the FEL attached. Is one style better than the other?

It's the typical decisions between after market/open market equipment vs. manufacture specific equipment. The manufacture equipment is probably a little better, as it is designed to work specifically with the make/model, but if you ever get rid of the tractor for another brand, or if you go up to a bigger size, then it may not work and you have to get a new one. After market will fit on multiple tractors if you upgrade or a different brand. Also if you don't need the piece anymore, it's easier to sell.

Personally, i would not let brand specific equipment play into your decisions. Unless, it's a package. I can get the tractor and the piece of equipment for the same price as the other tractor as the special this month.

I think that plows mounted directly to the tractor frame ( not on the FEL) offer better
directional control, as it is not as far out in front, especially when the plow is angled.

Also, you might want to check out warranty issues on the tractor. When I was looking
at the Bobcat CT235, they didn't offer a FEL mounted snow blade for that model, just
a frame mounted plow. A further check found that the CT235 warranty stated that
the use of a FEL mounted snow blade would void the warranty. That's why I went
with the CT335, which has a heavier frame and FEL structure to take the additional
stress from a FEL mounted snow blade.

Good to know - thank you.

E3A. I've been researching subframe mounted front blades for a few days now. I have a BMX184H front blade and subframe. The MF 1550 and the Kubota L2184 are the same blades, with hose length and couplers maybe different. I found this information from the company that makes these blades and subframes. For me the thing to consider is the cost difference of a front loader and bucket vs front blade and subframe. I asked a local LS dealer about their front subframe mount snowblower and have not heard back. lt190b

really, their warranty expressly forbids front mounted plows....that sucks.

I called Kioti on mine, and they have no issues with them. i didnt think any tractor cared what implements you used.

then again...ive been told that unless you buy full sized TRUCKS WITH factory plow packages...any use of a plow voids warranty. i think dealers want to do anything to void warranties.

It wasn't the dealer! He was going to sell me a 72" snow blade with the CT235, and wasn't
aware of the warranty clause, and didn't know why Bobcat didn't offer the FEL mounted
snow blade on their website when pricing out the CT235. I called the Bobcat headquarters

i called the Kioti rep on my questions...cause i dont always fully trust the dealer for answers that will hold up in a warranty issue. i also asked about
1. front plow - no issues doing so
2. Block heater installed in freeze plug - they said they understand why i would want it, but they said not to do it. So i didnt
3. Chains on front tires - they had no issues with that
