I am looking at getting a front mount blower with a 7610 I am purchasing. One dealer is strongly recommending the BX2750B while another the B2781. Any thoughts on the two?

Also, I am putting a Curtis cab on the tractor and wonder if it's worth the extra 1,000 to get hard side verses soft side.

And lastly, with the cab I am concerned about controling the chute. Is this an issue? Anyone use the electric chute control? Thoughts on that?

Thanks

Hi Griffey,

I have a 7610 with a BX2750. See link to my pics below. The only reason I have the BX2750 is because I had it left over from my old BX. If I were buying new, I would get the 2781 with hyd chute rotator. It looks like a stouter unit for little extra money. But either will do the job just fine.

Sorry, cant help you with the cab issues. I like it out in the open.

B,

You think the 7610 can handle the 2781? I don't know, just wondering if it might be a bit much. I guess it depends how fast you go and what the conditions are.

I have a B7800 with a front mount. I can't remember the model # of the blower but it's a 5' cut. I have a hydraulic chute rotator and an electric chute deflector operator. I would not be without either! I also have a Curtis soft-sided cab with heater and love it.

I have the soft sides on my Curtis cab and am glad I didn't spend the extra $$ as they work fine. They are removed from the tractor 7 out of the 12 months anyway.
You will definitely want the chute rotator, as the FEL controller will take up the only open space on the right side. The doors open at the back, so there is no easy way to rotate the chute otherwise.

Thank you all for your input. It's good to know that the soft side cab may ge the job done. Is it hard to remove in the non snow season?

Can the B7610 handle the 2781 blower? I had heard that the FEL control might be an issue, but one dealer said it wasn't. From what you're saying it is an issue and I will need the electirc/hydraulic controls.

I think due to cost I will either be able to get the hard side cab with the smaller blower or the soft side cab with the 2781 and the auto chute. Any suggestions on which is better?

I am looking at the B7610, 352 FEL, Front mount blower and cab for about 18,500. Any thoughts on the price?

Only the doors and back panel come off for the summer months. Removing the rest of the cab would be way too much work!!

Industrial or turf

Griffy,

I used a window motor to turn the chute, total cost about $25. Here is a thread about half way down is the info on the motor. I have a Sims cab on my BX 2200 and I remove the entire cab in the summer. It takes about 15 mins to take it off and put it on. I have to remove about 10 bolts and one quick disconnect for the wiring. I went with the Sims because I liked the steel and glass vs. vinyl sides and rear window with the Curtis.

Here is the link.

MGB,

Do you have pictures of the electric deflector that you can post. I have a hydraulic rotator but might like to have an electric deflector
