Yes I do not care for the tires that come on the 2016 X 758 . please stop wasting your time not really needing your help .

I am not wasting my time and as I see it I did not address the comment to you in post 16 above. On TBN if you post misinformation you can count on being called out every time.

John Deere calls the X 758 four wheel drive a FULL TIME FOUR WHEEL DRIVE .
The 4x4 works ALL THE TIME . But I am sure some will say no it does not .

Deere's use of imprecise terminology aside, the fact is that the current gen x758's drivetrain is smart in how it controls the power sent to the front wheels and the speed they rotate in turns. That means it is gentle to the ground when turning (assuming you aren't in a low-traction area such as turning up a hill). It does not behave like mechanical full-time 4x4 systems that send equal power to all wheels all the time and locks them into the same speed, which is what causes problems in turns.

From Deere's x758 feature page:

The full-time four-wheel drive (4WD) front axle provides a superior combination of traction and maneuverability. When the tractor is in a turn, the front wheels need to rotate faster because of the larger arc, compared to the rear wheels, they are traveling in. The hydrostatic front-wheel motors automatically increase the average travel speed of the front wheels when the tractor is in a turn.

The two front wheel motors receive fluid in parallel so each gets the amount of fluid needed to enable different speeds during turns, similar to a differential assembly, and allow smooth turns.

This is why it is different from true full-time 4x4 and why it does not rip up your lawn in most situations. Sure, if your ground is soft and you're turning while going up a hill or something there are times the front tires can dig it up. But that is the exception, not the norm.

Rod the hydrostatic Drive is still working in a turn but yes the front wheels do compensate for the turn . Being as the people that built the x 758 calls it a full time four wheel drive is because it is .
The older JD tractors used the very same thing The 4630 had three settings for front wheel drive off - on and full time . When the front wheel drive is on the tractor could turn much as the x 758 does The newer JD tractor are off or on and work as the x 750 does but is called by JD full time .

I'm not going to debate what is generally accepted terminology related to four wheeled drivetrains with you. There is a ton online about it and you obviously have your fixed opinon. But the fact is that when turning the x758 will not rip up your lawn like a 1025R in 4WD mode. It works differently. There is no room for opinion there. It operates differently.

Rob,

Is that "Big Blue1" in the background?

Not really. Just an old, old forum name I've stuck with. Actually usually use 'BigBlue' but someone here got that first. I do tend to like blue stuff whenever I can find it, if I have a choice. :)

I am not disputing the FULL TIME FOUR WHEEL DRIVE or all wheel drive or the terminology. All I ever mentioned to you is checking the adjustment of the hydraulic control lever on the front axle. This is using steering feedback to adjust the front wheels speed. That might be the cause of your problems, don't know for sure until it is checked. Might be something else entirely but since this problem is peculiar to your tractor it is worth checking out.

Now I understand you don't want to return it to the dealer you purchased it from who is 4 hours away but a phone call to ask the service department about this is doable.

Thank you I have called my dealer they have some good service guys that really know the X 758 . This dealer sells a lot of X 758,s maybe more then most/any dealers . At any given time they may have 6 or more used low hour X 758 tractors . I totally understand the four wheel drive on this tractor and how it works .
The tires that come standard are the problem for me . Driving across my grass the tires will pickup grass if it is damp at all on uncut grass . The tires pull the grass out of the ground I am going to turf tires .
