I am looking for a front blade for my TC-25D and was wondering what my options are? Do different companies make such a unit for this tractor? I am hoping to find something used but don't know what is available and from who. I currently have a front loader installed along with a rear blade for snow moving and it's a pita to keep turning around. Sure would be nice to drop the loader and push snow with a blade.

Welcome to TBN!:thumbsup:

I think your New Holland Dealer would be the 1st and best stop to look for a blade for your tractor. Here's a link to their current models of front blades, but your NH dealer could tell if these will fit or if a retrofit model is available.

Thanks Jim. That is a very handy link. Not sure how I missed it earlier. When I last talked to my dealer (which was 5-6 years ago) the going price was $4-$4.5k which was way more than I had to spend on one. I can start looking for a used NH unit or possibly better, find out if other brands are available for my tractor like woods or BH, etc, etc. Still, your advice is sound, i'll give them a call and see what the current price and model would be for my 25. Tnx. GV

Lots of TBN guys have adapted pickup snowplows to their loaders and push a lot of snow with them, me included. You just need to find one the right weight for your rig. It's nice to have one on the back at the same time - I use a box blade for dragging away from doors, etc.

I bought my front blade (72cb) from my dealer 6 years ago paid $2000 new, Front blade, subframe, cylinders and hoses, uses same valve as the loader
$4-4.5k seems way to high. I bought my tractor in the fall of 04' Greg

Greg, that is very interesting and really good news. I stopped by my dealer early last morning and they are under new ownership, and from the looks of it, they really don't know anything about my tractor. They actually did not have a clue. They said they need to research the matter and will get back to me. If I don't hear back from them today I will just call another dealer. I currently have a Great Bend 240 loader on the 25D....I wonder if I would use the same mount for the loader as for a new blade or if I will have to remove the entire loader and mounting? Do you by chance have any nice pictures you could share with me of your tractor showing the blade mounting etc ?

The front blade mounts to a subframe that goes under the tractor, my loader mounts stay on the tractor. Midmount mower brackets have to come off for subframe to be attached. Subframe can be seen in these pictures. Subframe mounts to very front of tractor and to the middle.This is the best I can do for now as far as pictures go. Your model may be alittle diffrent mounting than mine.

Thanks for the pictures and explanation. That makes a lot of sense now. I still have not heard a word from my dealer so I think it's time I make some calls elsewhere. I see we have a couple similar attachments to our tractors like the canopy and lights on the canopy.

Here are a couple pics (URL's) showing the currect loader and mounting method;

Tnx again.

The canopy was some of the best money I spent. It really helps a lot. Greg

Yes it is ! I hate being out in the blistering sun and it does a great job of keeping it off me. Now if I could only find an enclosure that goes around me completely for the winter time.
