Front Axle Oil

When I did my 400 hr service (2006 DK45S) I drained and refilled the front axle oil. After a couple hours use I noticed the front axle oil was low so I topped it up. I suspect trapped air caused the oil level appear full when it wasn't.

I doubt mine was low enough long enough to do any damage. But I'd advise owners to fill, drive, and recheck the level when changing the front axle oil.

That happens to all the models front axles due to air pockets. With my CK30hst, I refill, drive it around a few hundred yards, and then top off.

Thanks for the tip...I'll be changing the oil soon at 50 hours.
