Hi all. I have been surfing the site for a month now as I educate myself on tractors and requirements. We just purchased 37 acres near Huntsville, AL and looks a tractor is in the future. The info I culled from the site so far has proven invaluable as I make my decisions. I am currently in Iraq so info is about all I can get...

look forward to participating.

BTW, I am a highly skilled mechanic (and helicopter maintenance test pilot/Maint unit commander) who collects and restores cars (I have 6 Z24 Cavaliers; one actually made it in a national performance magazine that never posts FWD cars). I am meticulous in my maintenance practices and pretty good at designing fabrication solutions for unique repairs. I am sure I can handle a tractor that will likely not get more than 150 hrs per year.

Thanks for your Service to our Country! Congrats on getting the land and a tractor is a must. Sounds like you'll have no problem keeping it going. Good luck in the hunt for information and selecting the right unit.

I'd love to see you put a rotor head and tail rotor on a tractor! You'd be the one guy that would just use your sky-hook to get out of a mud hole!

(Rotory wing ROCKS!)

Yeah, great idea except a 40hp recipricating diesel probably won't yield the RPMs needed to lift the tug....but it would look so cooooool..
