Civilian - Brownie is a registered Cocker Spaniel. Male - 2 1/2 years. And, boy, was he ever full of it in that picture. He is Lord over all butterflies and grasshoppers. But with that restricted attitude - he is still alive.

I've had a couple much bigger dogs who though they were Lord over the coyotes. They learned a very hard & final lesson.

"Things" must be getting VERY tough for the coyotes. For the first time - IN A VERY LONG TIME - we heard them howling today around noon.

They almost alway serenade Brownie & me when we go out late at night to pee before going to bed. Howling during mid-day....seldom.

Here are our 2 current English Cocker Spaniels. Had two others before these. The golden one is 10yrs old, the white one is a year and a half. He is our Covid dog. Picked him up from the breeder just before Covid lockdowns. He only saw the wife, my dad and I for about five months. Then took them to our daughters and the little guy would not leave the van to pee at a stop. He never saw anyone else but us, all those cars moving around us. When we arrived at my daughters, he would not get out of his kennel when the 5 yr old grand daughter came up the door of the van. Now he is great with people, but frequently lays by the older dog when in the house. The English Cocker Spaniels are a bird hunting dog. They have the stamina to moutain bike with us. The prior two were able to run 20 miles a day for a 3 month Continental Divide ride/vacation. Jon
