Dealer Frist trip to the dealer - have questions

Visited NH dealer today and told him what I was interested in purchasing. He offered the following:
TC40, ag tires, 12x12 $17980
Loader 4250
7 1/2' BH 7450

Questions:
How much should I expect him to come off these prices?
(Located central IN).

Also, I went in looking at a TC45DA w/ R4 tires. The drop in HP may be OK, should I be looking at the T40DA?

My Dad bought a TC40DA (HST) with loader for $21,200 last fall. Included loaded tires (rim guard) & block heater.

This tractor had been sitting on the lot before the latest steel surchages went into effect... I still think your prices are high.

I got a quote from Tarheel for a TC40DA with FEL and BH and it was right at $28K including shipping. That makes me think he is way high on the TC40A.
I am still debating the transmission. I am also not the worlds best horse trader. I would appreciate any advice on dealer dealing.

First off, I'd pick the dealer before the tractor brand. All the tractors will "do the job". Some might have an advantage here or there... Check out some different colors. Also try the next closest NH dealer.

Personally, I'd shy away from the long distance dealer. In theory, you'll get more support from the local dealer.

For pricing info - do a search on TC40, you will see what others have paid.
