Freeze plug heater

I am trying to find a freeze plug heater for my L2250. I have read that the block plugs are not located between cylinders and therefore too shallow. Where is the best location for a heater on this engine?

I don't have your answer, but I suggest contacting someone like Messick's. They are usually good with support questions.

Apparently the clearance problem is solved by tapping a cylindrical "stand off" into the freeze plug hole and screwing the heater element into it. I'm investigating the same project at this time. Plenty of advice , pictures, etc from the helpful members on this site.
