Free standing fire pit and surrounds

Decided on RumbleStone by Pavestone brand despite my buddy high up at Mutual Materials. A bit of a complex pattern that was a challenge I think partly because the heat was affecting my brain.

Finally got going today in 95degF on the pavers. Dang it's hot. Notice personal mister in the background. A great $12 investment from Home Depot.

That is hot for your part of the country. Keep cool, and you have some nice work there. What is the history on the free standing unit? It looks cool. Local artist? Native?

Yes local artist. But not native as in Indian. Salmon theme. Big part of our culture here and especially the Hood Canal where I live. This is seafood lovers paradise in my opinion. Depending on time of year, we crab, shrimp, fish, clam, or gather all you want oysters! I'm blessed with a beautiful wife that is by my side fully in the mix for all of it.

Update. Have most of the pavers in place. Have some border work but first I think I am going to work on a short retaining/sitting wall.

]Sweet looking firepit. Is that sockeye or chinook? My Wife and I would love something like that, up by the garden. We don't have much level ground either.

Sorry about the broken pic link. Dang it... for some weird reason suddenly I can't upload from pc or phone now. Never had this issue before. So now you will have to imagine where I am so far. Got most the seams filled with sand, brushed and lightly watered last night. Wall and borders to come. In the meantime I better fix this upload issue.
