looked for some time to try and find where this leak was coming from. looked like it was coming from the top of the fuel tank. the other day i noticed leaking on the ground toward the front of the tractor. traced it back and i think i found the source. looks like a weak crimp on a fuel line. is this an easy fix? new hose and on my way or should i let the dealer tackle it. looks pretty easy but ... dealer is 300.00 dollars away.

thanks

Don't know if it's easy but if you think you can tackle and without making it any worse I think I'd give it a shot. Good luck and let us know how you make out with it.

I'd try it also.

Take the hose off, grind off the crimp and peel it off and put a new USA made hose and clamp on it. Under the factory crimp is a really nice barbed fitting. Just do away with the fancy OEM braided hoses altogether. The one on the tank is difficult without removing the tire and maybe the fender and loosening the tank to make a little space. Might take an hour or more. The rest of the hoses are easy. So it is some work, but so is hauling it to the dealer if you are far away.

This appears to be what they did to my 4035 for the same issue, but I let the dealer do it and register it under a warranty repair so the records are there for them and me. One of my concerns was continued warranty coverage for a self fix.

sounds like a plan. the dealer states this isnt covered under warranty and also that it is a return line only. from what i can see it doesnt go back to the tank, just from where it is pictured down to the block . in plain sight .
