Found something strange on my BX23S Fuel Injection Pump

I noticed this weird thing on the backside of my injection pump. This little thingamajig just sits there and spins and rattles around, so look at the picture and see if any of you know what this is. It faces towards the rear of the engine, towards the radiator. Its loose and just spins freely while the engine runs. It has a flat only on one side of it, looks like some sort of pin inside of the middle of it. It looks like it has something to do with the injection pump, but i`m clueless to what it is. I`m just concerned that it sits there spinning from engine vibrations.

GenLee, if you find it, see if yours is just loose and spins around too.
If yours is the same, i`m not gonna worry about it. But it would still intrest me in knowing what it is.

I think it's the anti-tamper cover for the FIP adjustment? It spins so the screw it covers doesn't. Leave it alone.

Yep, mine spins. I didn't check it while engine was on. Found it, felt it and it's loose

Thanks, and i have absolutely no intentions of messing with it.
If i dont know what something is, i dont touch it, i always ask others first.
I was just curious as to what it is and what it does because it just sits there spinning/rattling around.
