I have three large brush piles that I would like to burn next week. I used the TC 55 to loosen up the snow and ice covered wood so the fire would get more air. About 100 feet out of the garage the engine stumbled to a halt after a half hour of warming up. I removed the fuel filter which was coated with ice. The tank was dry when I received the tractor. I refilled it with blended fuel and anti gel treatment. Lucky the spare filter was in stock and ten minutes later I was in business. It sure seems alot colder than the weatherman indicates.

You need to be careful with todays new high sulfer diesel fuels. If you are filling your tractor from a can that was filled at a gas station, you are probably getting the new blend. This blend requires different additives then used to work to make them anti-gel. K100 is a good additive that covers most of your needs. Just thought I would mention it if you continue to have problems with the fuel.

Larry_NFES - It doesn't sound like he had a gel problem but a ice problem, two different problems. If he actually had "ice" in his filter then his tank had water in it and had nothing to do with what type of fuel was in the tank. If he doesn't keep the tank full it could have come from condensation. And the new fuel is "low" suflur, not "high" sulfur.
