I found these 4 little magnets on the sump side of the oil strainer. Strong little buggers too.

My question is this normal that these magnets are free to roam inside the strainer. They seem to all stick to the cover, at least that's where I found them when I took the cap off. When I found them they were all clumped together but there seems to be 4 little indentations in the cover where they seems to fit.

They capture small ferrous metal particles. You can epoxy them back in place. They function the same as magnetic drain plugs found in engines and transmissions.

I figured that they were there to pick up metal particles but I found it odd that they would not be secured. Anyways I put them back where they were. They can't go anywhere anyways LOL
