Have you considered roof protection?

Although you have rollover protection the fact is you have no protection for limbs coming through the center of the roof.

Regards, Fred

Hi Fred. Yes, once we get the pan done I’m hoping we still have time to get a cage and limb severs built out of tubing. Pulling ideas together now. If you have something with pictures I’d be grateful.

All I can find right now on my cab. It was built in modules to make it easy to remove to repair or modify.

Good point Fred. I added a heavy duty canopy to my open station tractor and it's saved me several times from injury. Scares the crap out of you when a limb crashes onto the canopy, but no blood!!!! :)

If you look up forestry package for tractors you will find lots of ideas for limb runners, glass protectors and roof protection.

Thanks Lou. I’ll run that search. Im hoping I might get more detail from someone with something similar to what I have.

I dug up my old thread and looked for a way to update the pics. I can't find any way. There are some other member's on the thread that posted pics of some ideas you might want to look at. Here's a link to that thread if you haven't found it.

I've got 28 pics of my skid plate in various stages of construction if you want them? I can post them here is thumbnail size so as not to "clog" up your thread. Let me know.

Regardless of direction, keep us updated on your progress. I've learned much more from threads on TBN than I've contributed. :)

I’ve been looking over the pictures you sent me today Richard. With your, is it safe to say that for general maintenance the only part you need to remove is the orange cage? I like the simplicity and I think it would give me the protection I need. In concept, I like the idea of complete armor across the entire bottom like Eric’s design. I’m trying to balance out how much protection I need with what I’m really going to get into. I can see the benefit of having the bottom protected.

I see your mount point forward of the hood on the guard, but I can make out where you went below the front of you cab. Did you use 2” tubing?

Yes, all that needs removed is the cage to access and change the filters.

I see the use of both types. Totally depends on what you expect. As you can see from one of Eric's pics, he truly "skids" on his. I don't. :)

I'll have to check with my brother on the diameter, he built it.

Spotted this on Kijiji (Alberta), not sure if the cab is the same? But for the price ($200), pretty good deal (even shipped, not sure you could make it for that, I couldn't):
