I have a 2013 Ford Explorer. The original equipment tires, became noisy, tech said tire wear do to not rotating timely. They was right, I didn't rotate them every 5000 miles like they want. I had a flat, and tire was not repairable...so at 43,000 miles I elected to scrap them and put on Michlens...with every intent of rotating as they request.
Now...after one tire rotation and about 7800 miles on them I took it in and said....guess what...I'm starting to hear tire noise again. They checked alignment, all within spec, but they admitted they hear the noise, and said all four tires where worn more on the inside edge of the tires. Mentioned wearing like AWD pattern, and mine is FWD. Said come back a xx miles they will rotate and if noise worsens, they will replace all the tires.
Goggling Ford tire wear issues, came across this. Ford Motor Company - Premature tire wear, Review 6 5984 | Complaints Board.
WHAT is going on here. As high tech as everything is....having tire wear issues seems like a stupid problem.
