Ford New Holland 1630 - maintenance

Was looking for a little help in my first tractor maintenance. I just bought a 1998 Ford New Holland 1630 tractor. The previous owner is trying to locate the manual for me but I wanted to go ahead and change out some fluids this weekend. It has about 975 hours on it and he said he changes the oil every spring and by the looks of the oil is it ready for a change. This is not only my first tractor but the first time I have been around a tractor. I found where it appears the oil goes in and where it comes out, just didn't know if it is as straight forward as it appears. Also, what else do I need to go ahead and change out? Since it is new to me I am tempted to go ahead and change out the air, fuel and the hydraulic filters. How much oil does it hold? Any issues running Rotella T6 5-40W synthetic and a Hastings filter?

You need to get a operators manual and study it. You can find them on ebay for under $20. This will tell you what maintenance to do and when. It will tell you what type of oil goes where . It will be the best money you will spend.

I actually was able download the manual from the Ford New Holland site. They are actually not much more expensive that what you buy from ebay. Strange part is the manual doesn't give you oil capacity-just says to fill until the level is between the lines on the stick. It looks like that could be anywhere from 3 to 5 quarts based on what I put in yesterday. I took three quart out and I put about 5 back in-it put the oil level just barely above the high side mark. Is it ok to run these little engines on the high side for oil?
