My manual for a ford 1300 calls for M2C-134-A tranny fluid, but the stuff I bought (Wal-mart tractor hydraulic fluid) says it meets M2C-134-D requirements. Anybody know the difference? Does it matter? The local tractor supply place wants $55 for 5 gallons of their recommended fluid, which is a lot more than I paid. Thanks-

I believe the 134 spec is backwards compatible. In other words, the D meets all the spec's of the A.

Yep.. allan is right on... the spec is b-wards compatible. I use the walmart 134d spec oil in my old and big ford / NH's with no problems.

Thanks for the input! Now all I have to do is figure out how to bleed the pump and I can mow the weeds. That'll keep the wife happy!
