I have oportunity to pick one up with 48" mower deck. No rear hitch. I need only for mowing. $1950. Runs good. Mows good.
There is very little information on the internet about this model. Is it an orphan? Dealer says all parts except the deck are availlable.
About 1200 hours on the working meter. Looks to be in good condition, normal wear and tear stuff.
Thoughts? Stay away? Grab it? Any horror stories?
I'm planning to take a trailer Saturday to take a second look at it. Dealer won't budge on price but will give me a one time 20% parts discount on any parts I want for it.

These were made by Shibaura in Japan for Ford and New Holland. I would think that a New Holland dealer could get parts. From what I've seen in looking these up they were made in the 1980's. And I saw several others for sale at prices higher than you were quoted. I personally thought that the price was high when I first read your post, but apparently there is a good market for these and they are priced accordingly. For that kind of money, I'd personally be looking at a Deere 300 or 400 series machine where I know parts and attachments are easy to get.
