5.7 Hemi. See my previos post for fuel mileage so far. I got the crew cab with the 5 ft 7 in bed. There are some trucks around with the reg cab 8 ft bed in this area, obviously the extend cab models are the most popular.

Congrats on the new truck!
I look forward to pictures and more reviews. The HEMI is a great engine with a long reputation of reliability. Unless neccessary, I prefer modern gas engines compared to modern diesels.
Keep an eye on the MDS light, the longer it's on the closer to 20 mpgs you'll get.
It's always the Ford fans bashing the other trucks. Pretty funny!

congrats on the new truck! it should last you a long time and give you years of great service. I recently bought a crew cab and will never go back to extended cab again. your dealers sound like the ones around here, Dodge and GM want to sell trucks but Ford doesn't want to work with you one bit on price. I also notice the GM and Dodge dealerships don't have NEAR the high turnover in salesman that the two local Ford dealers have.

Well, my GM has bolts that hold the bed on, so I don't where you got your BS information from. Evidently not from actually looking at the truck in question.

Last I checked Dodge trucks had the highest increase in sales monthly vs any other half ton truck. So obviously their sales are not "way down".

Secondly, if you took fleet sales and class 4/5 truck sales numbers out of those figures the total numbers would be much closer.

Your findings are just like mine. The Ford and Toyota dealers do not have to deal like the GM, Nissan, and Dodge guys do around here.

I see the same price discrepancy you do.

As a Ford Fan I still say you get the most for your money in the long run but I can not fault you for going with the truck that fits your needs and is 4K less.

I bought the ecoboost last year in the F150 XLT Quad and could not be more pleased with power, torque, and especially economy. Traded in a Dodge Ram diesel. My brother-in-law bought one earlier last year. We both pull 50hp tractors. They have been everything advertised so far. (But I bought extended warranty just in case)

But, I also don't believe that F-150 spins all four on dry pavement even with 3.73's.
As far as "slushbox", we disagree again. Granted it cuts the throttle when up-shifting to make the shifts smoother and keep traction between shifts but pulling one wire (#15?) from the TCU harness gives you nice firm WOT shifts and chirps second gear. Google Ram WOT mod for more info. I'd like to see a Ford/GM tranny do that.
