Ford 8N - Live PTO Creeper gear possibilities?

I inherited a nice 8N. I have a pro 5' wide mower attached that I mow the pasture with. I wasn't thinking clearly i guess when I bought a new DR 3 pt. hitch PTO Trimmer to do all my fence lines, including the white vinyl fence. It would be sweet other than now I realize I need to maintain 540 pro but my 8N in first gear is WAY to fast! If I throttle down, down goes the PTO speed. Anyway, I know you can add a Sherman transmission, etc. for a creeper gear but the PTO slows down as well. QUESTION: Any realistic way to slow my 8N down to carefully go around my fences and control this trimmer all the while maintaining 540 pro? I have this new trimmer with about 30 minutes use that now appears useless to me. Help

You may be able to use their atv model but ground speed may still be a problem with the N.

Sorry no help on your 8N problems.

I find once a year spraying of fence lines with a combo of Roundup and 2-4D Amine solution solves all the mowing issues on my fence lines and it would be many years of chemical buying before I would spend the amount of money that one of those fence line trimmers cost.

The best way to get live PTO out of an N series is to buy another tractor, sorry I know it's not the answer your looking for. Something a few years newer would fit the bill.

2 issues.

1, there is a live pto post trans available that is a 2nd stage cluitch. it won't help you.

2, there is a howard rotovator post tranny available... it slows you enough to run a rototiller.. so that MIGHT help you.

the howard trans are pretty pricey.

me personally.. I'd buy a different tractor something with a 5, 6 or preferably, 8spd.
