I just bought a month ago a 47 Ford 8n tractor. There is teeth broke off of the flyweel so I ordred a new one and took the engine out tonight to change it. Everything went fine until I tried to remove the ringear from the flywheel. I can not get it off any ideas?

Cut it, like Mike said, or heat evenly all around and it'll knock right off. You'll need to heat the replacement to get it on. No hot spots.

Best way I've found to install the new one after you cut the old one off is to set your oven up as high as you can and put the new ring gear in for about an hour. At the same time put the flywheel in the refrigerator for the same amount of time. One will slide onto the other with ease.

drill between 2 teeth but stay out of the flywheel, then split with a cold chissle.. freeze the flywheel, and heat the ring gear in the bbq.. drop on then tap into place..
