Ford 861 rear wheel rim corroded around valve stem

Hello, this is my first post, so bare with me. I have a 1956 861 Ford tractor with 11" x 28" power adjust rear wheels that have corroded around the valve stem so bad that the tube is showing quite a bit. I took the worst wheel to the local tire repair shop and had the tire dismouted and drained the fluid, which has caused the problem. The wheel has a fairly big hole corroded out, to the extent that it needs some welding done, or I can try to find an oem wheel to replace it. That is the problem I am having, finding another wheel like this one. The machinist says he he can repair it, but it will still have some pitted areas in the wheel itself. He recommended trying to find another wheel , but I can't find any that is like the original. The model # is NDB 1020 B. Any suggestions ?

You can drill a new hole in an unrusted area of the wheel. Weld up the bad hole and grind smooth on the inside, Paint the inside of the wheel with some rust stop paint, Then a heavy body filler primer to fill the rust pits. Put in a new tube and go back to work. Or, Millertire has an 11 X 28 rim that your welder might be able to move the power adjust tracks to. They also have a 10 X 28 ready to go so maybe if you call them they will have the right size.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering how I could re-coat the inside of the rim, and your suggestion sounds like a winner. I think this is what I will do.
