Just bought a 1973 Ford 3550 backhoe. The hoe on the tractor is 753. I am having a problem with the controls working the Crowd and Bucket, all other work fine (lift, stabilizers, and swing). It look like some one has replaced some hoses on the control valve. The problem is the I have to work 2 control levers at the same time to get them to move. It seems that the Crowd works first and then the bucket. If you just try using 1 control lever it seem to bind the pump. I have the service manual but it does not relate to this problem. Just want to know if anyone has any ideas what would cause this problem. Have not checked pressures on the as I do not have the gauges for it.
